Not really a proper answer, but there are some mac specific bindings in the Cocoa Emacs build that are useful.

I'm currently using regular Emacs.app from (not Aquamacs) and a few lines in ~/.emacs can easily use familiar shortcuts, e.g. Many of Emacs's features are implemented, including international character sets, input methods, and coding systems. I tend to disagree that Emacs.app does not integrate well in MacOS. The current version is part of the standard Emacs 21 distribution and runs on Mac OS 8 and 9.
